There is a Photoshop alternative for Mac - Port to GNU/Linux under Flatpak.
Compositor can be a new big thing in the illustration landscape.
The project needs to collect issues to develop on Linux. Any help needed.
Primarily, the Compositor uses: Mac Swift unchanged Upstream code and compile agianst Linux, and most of the compatibility layer is done in C and C++ ( fill missing parts of Mac libraries)
Something of an unfortunate name with regards to Linux windowing systems.
It looks like it might be useful, a simpler alternative to GIMP.
Here is the link to the mac version website Compositor – The Photoshop alternative for Mac
compositor means something in the linux world that is not the software you are talking about.
The compositor is the software that draws the desktop windows.
In light of that you might want to make the title refrect what the software you are talking about is. Is it a Graphic Design Compositor?
Nevertehnless any sugestion of improvement can be post here: Issues · chiddekel/Compositor · GitHub
There is the new ArtCraft project, PhotoCraft, an Open Source(MIT) re-implementation of Adobe Photoshop written in Rust.
Look superb, I want this packaged in Fedora! (an RPM is available on the linked site).
Maybe split this off into a new thread so more see it, rather than have it buried under a thread that sounds like an windows compositor which is somehow also related to an image editor.
More eyes == more attention == more interest == more downloads, pull requests, updates, etc.
They are genius - using a clear-room implementation:
