I’ve gone back and forth from COSMIC Atomic to Windows and back again several times. I miss the OneDrive integration but despise the bloat, the horrible udpate process, and AI slop in Windows. I’m going to a conference for a week, and I’ve installed COSMIC Atomic on my ThinkPad. I’m going to commit to using it exclusively for a week to see if I can kick the Windows habit. Equally sick of macOS BTW. I really want Linux to be my main OS.
Starfleet and the Federation all run Linux, go for it.
LOL good to know! Well that settles it then!
Hoping that by the time my NexPhone ships in the fall, I will be firmly in the Linux camp and can ditch the iPhone too.
Its been a month. Right now my ThinkPad running Linux is my favorite device to use. Second place is my ThinkPad with Windows 11, and last place is my iMac. COSMIC Atomic is a great OS. Fedora makes a great product. I wish more people would consider it as an alternative to the Windows/macOS duopoly.
Good stuff.
Usually bounced between Mint, Ubuntu & Arch primarily.
Always dual boot with Windows with Linux more a vacation spot and fallback system but the last two years have seen role reversal. It feels almost impossible to get anything done in Windows 11 so I rolled back to 10 and keep Linux as my main now. Sometime in September (I think) will mark my 26th anniversary using Linux and the only thing I’m mad about is how the time flew by.
I still use Arch BTW (LOL) but I’m also growing quite fond of and currently using Fedora Workstation. Linux Mint and Ubuntu seem to get a little too laggy after a while and Mint has been breaking in areas lately so here I am again.
Fedora Immutable systems are pretty fun – I’ve used Kinoite several times in the past.
Anyway, glad to see everything has worked out for the best Apollo 18; can’t say that I’m surprised to see you using a Thinkpad as that’s become something of an online meme regarding Linux users. My first Linux experience was on an IBM ThinkPad a20m so I can only laugh about the meme without any counter argument.
Take care and welcome to Linux.
