First Time Fedora Experience

Hello, I’m Louis from Houston TX! Been using Linux off and on since 2002. I haven’t yet found anything Linux can’t do except give me a blue screen of death lol. Now I have found another blue screen, Fedora Workstation 42! I really enjoy this OS and easily installed Waydroid on it for a dip into the android pool. Recent years have proven in the Microsoft world, that you are their product to make profit. I have finally blown away my Windows 11 partition and am full time Linux now!

Welcome to the community!

That’s a good, long time to use Linux! Welcome to Fedora.

I’ve used it for five years and it has been a maturing experience for me as a Linux user. I could’ve made the same strides as an Ubuntu user, but switching to Fedora and being adamant about remaining on it and solving my issues as they come has taught me more than anything else (in regard to learning Linux).

Do you enjoy RPM and dnf5 so far? What are your experiences with the repositories, and COPR?

Pragmatic! I like that.

I’ve been using it since 2008. It has been an amazing journey from ordinary desktop usage to server administration. I am still learning. Your story about Windows is inspiring (I can relate with that too. I’m looking for a good reason to archive that annoying OS for good. It will come some day)

In the meantime … Fedora is taking 90% of my computer sessions. Join the club.
