Hello everyone
I’m very new to the Fedora community (and hopefully in the right thread here, as I don´t see any 2025 posts…
) but not to Fedora, as I have been using it now for the last three years on my old laptop.
I just want to say THANK YOU for giving people like me (= no idea about programming, software and such) the possibility of using a system that lets me use my old laptop without problems and for free!
So hi again and thank you ![]()
Welcome to the community ![]()
I shifted this to a new topic, so that we have one for 2025+, it seems we missed to create one.
Hello to the group. My name is David, and I live in Layton, UT, USA. I’m very impressed with those of you who know how to write programs. In 2008 I tried to use OpenSuse. This didn’t stick. About 10 years ago I moved to Ubuntu and two years ago to LinuxMint. I have Fedora 43 loaded on my touchscreen laptop. It is nice to still have use of this fun laptop. Other hobbies? Ham radio.
Hello Everyone,
I’m Robert, I have been a Linux user for 20+ years now and have dabbled with all sorts of distros. I recently installed Fedora KDE on my spare laptop I really enjoyed the whole process. I use openSUSE Tumbleweed on my main machine but am considering replacing it with Fedora, but I’m still on the fence. I will be lurking around to get all the latest going’s on here.
Hello everyone,
I’m Kim from Germany. I have been using Linux for nearly a year now, it has instantly become my daily driver since I mostly work in research and am not required to use any Microslop firmware.
I have switched to Fedora Workstation three months ago when I purchased my new laptop because it was the only distribution working out of the box with my convertible and the stylus. I actually would have liked to stick with Zorin OS because it still ships with x11 which I need for using the screensharing function in Webex/Zoom. Apart from that I am very happy with Fedora. Sometimes when I give a lecture on Webex/Zoom and want to use screensharing, I have to turn on my old laptop with Zorin OS though.
I am looking forward to engaging with the community!
All the best,
Kim
Welcome!
