Chrome tabs started scrolling automatically very fast to the bottom of the page

It turns out that suddenly, Chrome tabs started scrolling automatically very fast to the bottom of the page. Very annoying!

I have Chrome 125.0.6422.141 (Official Build) (64-bit). System is GNU Linux Fedora 39.

  • I found that this does not happen if change user.
  • It doesn’t happen with other applications either (e.g. Emacs)
  • It doesn’t happen with another browser (Firefox) either.

So that it seems to be specific for Chrome and related to some configuration issue.

Any ideas?

I open Chrome tabs and I expect them to not scroll untill I do it with mouse or keyboard.

But the tabs scroll endlessly to the bottom of the page.

Finally I found the culprit. It was the Orca package. I see that there is a program called orca that activates, so
I deactivated it. To do that, I search in KDE settings for “orca” and it turns out that
deactivating it and restarting everything seems to be OK!!
