This is what the online accounts window looks like:
Any ideas?
Does logging out and back in, or restarting work? It’s possible that the gnome-online-accounts daemon has crashed:
This is what I see on my F36:
$ ps aux | grep goa
asinha 5827 0.0 0.4 1310792 149940 ? SLsl Oct30 2:35 /usr/libexec/goa-daemon
asinha 5856 0.0 0.0 449812 6632 ? Ssl Oct30 0:00 /usr/libexec/gvfs-goa-volume-monitor
asinha 5888 0.0 0.0 534332 16100 ? SLsl Oct30 2:18 /usr/libexec/goa-identity-service
asinha 142714 0.0 0.0 222304 2156 pts/18 S+ 15:02 0:00 grep --color=auto goa
It does not improve with reboots or relogging back in and out.
This is what I get:
$ ps aux | grep goa
max 2268 0.0 0.0 448272 6272 ? Ssl 08:43 0:00 /usr/libexec/gvfs-goa-volume-monitor
max 37767 0.0 0.0 222144 2080 pts/0 S+ 11:03 0:00 grep --color=auto goa
Anything I should try?
I guess try running goa-deamon
from the terminal and see what it does? If it crashes, that’s a bug and we’ll need to try to debug why that’s happening. So, in a terminal, maybe try:
/usr/libexec/goa-daemon
Also worth checking your journal logs to see if there are any crashes:
Another simple check is: what happens in a new user? Does it work there?
$ /usr/libexec/goa-daemon
/usr/libexec/goa-daemon: symbol lookup error: /lib64/libgstvideo-1.0.so.0: undefined symbol: _gst_meta_tag_memory_reference
I did not try to add an online account during the new user steps, so I don’t know.
The only reference in logs I see in relation to goa-daemon is:

This is a bug—it can’t find a particular shared library it needs. Is your system up to date? This is the package that provides this shared object:

This should’ve been caught by the QA folks. I don’t see a blocker bug about this:
https://qa.fedoraproject.org/blockerbugs/milestone/37/final/buglist
This is a up to date F37 beta install that I did this morning.
I don’t see a method of reporting this on that list, or is it through a different process?

This is what I got on my fully updated F37 Beta system. Have you checked your own?
I have installed nothing but the initial OS from the Workstation ISO, then did a full upgrade.
This is mine:

That doesn’t show the locally installed version, it tells us versions in the repos. This should tell us:
rpm -q gstreamer1-plugins-base
Can you also share the output of fpaste --sysinfo --printonly
please? I expected to see the updates repositories in your output, so it’ll be good to check what repos are enabled.
$ rpm -q gstreamer1-plugins-base
gstreamer1-plugins-base-1.20.4-1.fc37.x86_64

Gathering system info ...............................
Please let me know if you need anything else!
Everything including other issues I was having seems to be resolved with a clean install of F37 beta.
Last night, my fully updated F37 Beta, Chrome just crash on start (same as Chrome Dev).
Just now, after another update, Chrome can start without issues.
There must be something missing in between.
I spoke too soon, the issue is back on this install as well, trying to troubleshoot now.
I just added my Google Account without issues.
(I never add Internet accounts to Fedora, a first for me.)
I’ve gone ahead and returned to F36, I might have more time this weekend to troubleshoot, but in every machine I’ve put F37 beta on, goa-daemon goes haywire.
I encountered the exact same problem.
And the exact same “symbol lookup error […]” also happened in other applications (pandoc using wkhtmltopdf from md to pdf)
Would reinstalling the library be an Idea?
