So here I come looking for help.
I have a dual boot setup with windows and fedora on seperate SSD’s and yesterday after waking fedora from sleep there was a terrible graphical glitch on screen but blindfolded I opened a terminal and ran shutdown now. But afterwards when choosing fedora on GRUB I couldn’t log and got into emergency mode.
After much troobleshooting I decided to back up my files and reinstall fedora, so I did, installation from live usb goes fine. But I can’t access Fedora.
After the screen to load into BIOS goes away there’s just a blank screen.
When i go into BIOS I can see the boot option for fedora and for Windows Partition Manager and I can get to windows but choosing fedora gets me a blank screen not even the GRUB menu shows up.
Reinstalled fedora multiple times ending with the same result. What else can i do?
TLDR: after reinstalling, fedora doesn’t boot up, not even GRUB shows up. But I can access Windows on a seperate ssd using the BIOS boot option.
I had already tried those options with no success.
Just to update, this morning the system booted normally to my surprise (GRUB showing up correctly). I went ahead and updated and installed the software I need, also constantly rebooting to check everything ran fine.
But after I went into the motherboard Bios to set some settings I use (Virtualization, fan curves, undervolt) it went back to the previous state (fedora not booting, GRUB not showing, only a black screen).
I reverted the BIOS settings to the previous state with no success, also tried clearing the cmos and loading motherboard defaults with no success.
This morning it booted after letting the pc rest overnight. It sounds silly but that’s what I’m doing right now to see if I can reproduce the behavior.
