I am trying to install Fedora Silverblue 31 on a new PC. I have previously installed it on a tablet with no trouble, using the same installation media.
The new PC is using an X570 chipset, with a 3900X CPU, along with Radeon RX 5700 XT and Radeon RX 550 graphics cards.
The installation media gets tested first for correctness, and passes fine. I see a text log with various start-up messages. I then see the Fedora GUI installer appear with the language prompt - it shows for about a second, and then the screen blacks out with the log message “terminated” appearing. The PC then restarts.
Without more info, it is difficult to say what is going on. Perhaps you are having an issue that was reported against Gnome-Initial-Setup, which produced somewhat similar behavior. There was a patch for F31SB but it may not be in the ISO installer. In any case it is Gnome specific if this is your problem (Silverblue issue). I notice in searching around there are varied discussions about the Ryzen CPU and issues with Fedora. My brother in law has a Ryzen that will randomly reboot on Silverblue, this problem comes and goes as updates happen. Very difficult to pin down the reason for him.
I discovered it didn’t like my GPT disk partitions, I had an extended partition and a btrfs partitions (a btrfs was as a primary and another within the extended partition). Got the hint from here: [SOLVED] Live installer (F26) hangs after selecting language
