Problem
If you have hardware drivers issues and need to install Fedora in basic graphics mode (there’s a boot entry called like this under the Troubleshooting menu, on the install media), please note that this mode currently seems completely broken on KDE and partially on GNOME.
If your system runs in UEFI mode, the Fedora 36 KDE Live image will not even start in the basic graphics mode. If your system runs in BIOS mode, the same Live image will start and install fine, but after reboot into the installed system, the screen will soon switch to black and no further action is possible.
If you try to install Fedora 36 Workstation Live in the basic graphics mode, everything should work fine in both UEFI and BIOS mode. However, in UEFI mode, you can only use the system with a Wayland session (the default). An X11 session can’t be started correctly.
