You used to able to place *.desktop files into .local/share/applications and they would automatically get picked up by gnome shell and become available for use. Does that not work anymore? Is the some option needed to enable that behavior?
Hi @markito3, welcome to Fedora. Please take a look at the posts in the #start-here category if you’ve not had a chance to do so.
You can still place desktop files in /usr/share/applications. That should work just fine. Please check that your desktop files are valid by using the desktop-file-validate tool.
