I upgraded to F37 from F34 back in early December and I have kept the OS up to date with weeklyish ‘sudo dnf update’ commands. After upgrading, I ran into an issue with the line-out audio source where media failed to load due to an audio issue. In multiple browsers (Firefox/Brave) or in RhythmBox, media does not load and the swirly progress circle just spins. Videos on YouTube, Amazon Prime, MP3 on local machine, all affected. Load a video or song and it will spin the progress circle indefinitely. That is, unless you unplug and replug the line-out jack or enter the ‘pulseaudio -k’ command. I now have to keep a terminal window open all the time to enter the ‘pulseaudio -k’ command every time I play a new media file. That’s one work around.
It does not affect the microphone jack port up at the front of the computer. I currently have my speaker system plugged into the microphone port. It also does not affect the headphones over USB. It only affects the line-out and HDMI audio ports. Also, once one of those affected audio sources has been selected in the sound settings (line-out or HDMI), the problem occurs immediately and persists until ‘pulseaudio -k’ is administered. Also, when the audio is not working, you cannot test the speakers in the sound settings until the ‘pulseaudio -k’ command has been administered.
