Will Cosmic Atomic also be released when Fedora 42 is released?

The Cosmic Atomic ISO file has been shared here. Also, when I run the command ostree remote refs fedora, I see fedora:fedora/42/x86_64/cosmic-atomic.

However, in the accepted changes list for Fedora 42, I can only see Cosmic Spin. Cosmic Atomic is not mentioned.

Consequently, I’m confused. Will Cosmic Atomic be released when Fedora 42 is released, or not? I’m very excited about Cosmic Atomic!

Till a fedora version gets stable it will be in the development sub-folder. Just afterwards when stable it will be moved into the F42 folder. This is the same with the beta content of the Fedora Website where you download it.

The atomic desktops from “Spins” will be released more or less on the same time. If there are still troubles with it on the release day, shortly after things will be fixed and released. While the Workstation/KDE and the Silverblue & KDE atomic desktop can delay a release, the Spin based desktops will not.

Stay tuned and be patient

p.s.
Updating from beta to stable is normally not a big issue. Especially if it is an atomic desktop.
