Why is ZArt on my system, what is it, and how do I remove it?

This app appeared in the app launcher. It’s called ZArt. The binary executable is /usr/bin/zart.

I don’t remember installing it. I want to remove it, but it’s not recognized as a package by dnf nor flatpak. Anyone know what it is, why it might appear, or how to remove it?

I guess it’s part of this - “GREYC’s Magic for Image Computing”.

Did you install GMIC or something related?

Apparently it is a dependency of flowblade (video editing software). It’s just very weird to have random unannounced gui apps appear because of some other apps dependency.

Yes, that’s why there’s even a rule in the packaging guidelines that strongly advises against doing that (i.e. applications depending on other applications): https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#_package_independence - it sounds as if that was not followed here.
