Why can't I copy and paste into email from Files app?

I have an image saved in my Downloads folder.
I opened Files app, right click, copied.
Opened an email, tried to paste it in but nothing happens.
I am using Thunderbird, Fedora 40WS Gnome.

Grateful for any ideas

If you use the rpm version of Thunderbird and not Flatpak it works while using the keys Shift & Ctrl & c and paste it with Ctrl & v in Thunderbird.

What about the atachement/s button in Thunderbird, does this also not work?

I use drag and drop to attach files from Files (nautilus) to New email windows of Thunderbird.

Copy&paste is working between Files and LibreOffice Writer for example, both on F40 Workstation (RPMs), as well as F41 Silverblue (Flatpaks). So it might be that the email client is not implementing this feature as expected.
