So i wanted to ask if there is an actual Backdoor for the CPU no matter if its Intel or Amd what would be the reason for using Linux after all?

why was this topic unlisted?

It was flagged by someone with higher trust level and then automatically hidden until mod decision. I think it was mistakenly taken for spam because it has some correlations (especially this types of links are often abused). But its listed again now. I removed the flag. Sorry for the inconvenience :classic_smiley:

Haven’t watched the video, but a short skim over some sequences makes it feel not entirely neutral. So maybe it is useful to add this as complementary source that likely broader audiences edited: Intel Management Engine - Wikipedia

By the way, it’s also common at some vendors to decide on order if ME is enabled or disabled. But at least as long as solely proprietary firmware is used, there remains a lot of “trust” rather than “knowledge” or “proof” part of the game.

By the way, welcome to the community @npc00000 :classic_smiley: Sorry for the less unfortunate start with your post being temporarily hidden :frowning:

Using Linux makes it easier to remove Intel ME :stuck_out_tongue: (me_cleaner)

I did HAP bit and ME’s disabled at BIOS and every OS.

Theoretically Intel ME/AMD PSP backdoors should only be a concern if you believe there’s openly-available exploits being actively used.

If an adversary has to go through ME/PSP for your data, you’re probably a very interesting person (way-above average) that somehow hasn’t been subject to quicker methods :stuck_out_tongue:

It looks like pretty obvious spam to me. The OP is a first time poster and the link is to a video channel. The OP has only ever viewed their own topic and one other. The vast majority of the videos on that channel are literally nothing more than short clips advertising selling there own services.

On top of that, the post text only superficially relates the topic to Linux.

A Linux installation cannot co-exist on the same SSD as Windows 11 if bit locker is enabled. You may have to experiment to determine if Windows 11 will also destroy Linux installed on a separate SSD when bit locker is enabled.

Perhaps running Windows 11 in a VM could be a reasonable work-a-round.
