What is the current status of removal of old docs?

We have ticket #168 und the discussion thread Hey docs team — I need a volunteer to drive the removal of old docs

According to those we wanted:

  1. translate the old release notes to adoc and make them available
  2. Remove the old pre-antora docs from the website at all, maybe replaced by a link to the internet archive
  3. Archive the PDF versions of those old docs anywhere
  4. Keeping the source repositories for a while to be able to search for possible material.

As far as I can see, (1) is completed and of (2) the first half (delete) is done. What about the rest?
