Generally what I do is use the -L option when SSHing to a server for port forwarding, like so:
ssh -L 3000:localhost:3000 root@server

Found the guidance here super helpful, in between I also tried Boxes but didn’t like it at all.
Returned to VB via RPM as advised and happily all working. Thanks all!
