Hi. I’m not sure if this is a bug, but in some cases, fonts are rendered slightly incorrectly in Plasma menus.
This isn’t a big deal, but it is sometimes annoying.
PC:
Lenovo Legion Pro 7 16ARX8H
AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX
RTX4090
Fedora 40 (6.11 kernel)
Here are some examples:
It looks like some letters are slightly smaller/larger than the others, and/or are rendered at a lower quality/resolution.
If I switch to dGPU only, the fonts look better, but still not perfect.
I do not see this problem on my f40 kde.
I have a 3840x2160 HDR screen that I’m scaling to 125% under Wayland.
What is output of kscreen-doctor -o?

That’s a really strange rendering bug, i don’t think i’ve ever seen that before.

Try experimenting with the scaling.
Try 100% and 200% does that change the font issue?

It could also be a problem with the font hinting. Have you tweaked any settings before relating to things like font aliasing or subpixel geometry?
100% scaling does make the fonts look slightly better, although they are still bugged. I would prefer my current (default) scaling, it’s the best for me.
I messed with every setting here, turning on and off Anti-Aliasing, range exclusion, trying every single rendering and hinting. Nothing made any difference… like literally, either I’m blind or these settings don’t actually do anything. All fonts look exactly the same no matter what.
