Using Gnome software for updates on a metered connection on fedora Silverblue

On a fresh fedora silverblue 38 install ,
When I update my system using gnome-software on a non metered connection , it will verify 5 commits when running a ostree-fsck.
However if a terminal is used instead or if i update my system using gnome-software on a metered connection it will verify only 2 commits when running a ostree-fsck.
Is it necessary for me to update using gnome software only on a metered connection or is this expected behaviour?

Please check the Software app preferences. There you can see the note that mobile or metered connections do not automatically download.

So yes, there must be a difference between the two connection types.

In general, if you have a slow Internet I propose you to switch off Automatic Updates. So you can plan to update/download your system at night or when a better network performance is available.
