After I upgraded from F37 to F38 Workstation my OfficeJet Pro 7740 which had been behaving fine before prints oversize pages that are too large for the paper. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the printer. Removing and re-installing hplip-gui-3.22.10-4.fc38.x86_64 and it’s hplip associated RPMS. I’ve compared the PPD to the previous backed-up version and can find no significant differences. I’m at a loss as to what else to try to troubleshoot this.
This sounds like the wrong paper size is selected for the print. For example, if a printer has A4 paper (8 X 10.5) and the print sent to the printer is for letter paper (8.5 X 11) it will print improperly.
Check carefully the paper size selected when the print is being sent to the printer.
Also verify that the printer queue being used is the one you created with hplip and not the one created by cups/avahi. I have one HP printer, but the system shows 3 different queues, 2 automatically created by cups/avahi and airprint as well as the one from hplip.
Does the test print from the hplip gui print properly?
