After installing KDE Plasma edition, Ausweis appears to be a dependency in a huge portion of the packages to be updated but I can’t find it referenced in any default package and I don’t know why it would be - it’s an ID reader for the German government…

If it is a weak dependency:

It says no packages require or recommend it.
Then you can remove it if you don’t want it to be installed.
I don’t know about the kde spin, but that package does not seem to be installed by default on the Workstation version.
It’s not installed on mine either, but for some reason it showed up in the update changelog after a clean installation.
What update changelog?
How was the update done?
Does it show as installed with dnf list installed AusweisApp2?
No, it doesn’t. In the Discover app after installation (see the picture in the original message)
Your response seems to indicate that the change log in discover may be in error. If the package were actually installed it should show with that dnf command.
