Trackpad highlighting issues

In windows while using the touchpad if you want to highlight some text, and the text is quite large you could just hold you finger at the edge of the touchpad and then it would continue highlighting, I noticed that in fedora kde this functionality is none existent, there is : Allow briefly lifting during drag an tap but it is quite inconsistent and i do not know how long is brief because sometimes it work sometimes it does not,How can i get the same functionality from windows

Welcome to Fedora @manuel-254

When you have hardware which you bought to run with windows, you can not always expecting the same behavior as under Windows. The main reason for that is, that Windows uses closed source drivers which are not always available under Linux. As this drivers are not open source software, it has to be reverse engineered. If nobody is able to do it exactly you can not expect same functionality.

I do work on gnome, when I want to mark a big block of text, i just mark the first word of the block and press the Shift Key (keep it pressed) while scrolling down and click on the end of that block. This marks me the whole text block.

Have a look if this might help to achieve the same, just with an other key you have to press additionally.

If this not help and you would like to investigate more, we do need more information about your system.
Have a look to this topic how to gather information which is helping us to help you.
