Touchpad stuck at reverse on Asahi Linux

No matter what I do, my touchpad behaves in reverse. If I uncheck the “Reverse scroll direction” box, when I close and restart the “Mouse and Touchpad” settings app, it’s back to ticked again. The behaviour is reversed during this whole exercise.
