Tom on the Fedora mailing list wrote this:
No sound at all, not even any sound devices listed. Poking around in
google I eventually found the advice to do this:
rm -rf ~/.local/state/wireplumber
reboot
That worked. I can watch videos now and hear the soundtrack.
The output of inxi -Fzxx
would give us more information about the system.
Please try to copy&paste text as much as possible since images are larger than the text equivalent, are not searchable, and content cannot be quoted without manually typing the portion to quote. On screen formatting is preferred, which is done by using the </>
button on the toolbar of the text entry window, or by adding “```” on the lines before and after the pasted text.
Thanks! This solved my sound not working problem on a Surface Go 2 after upgrade to Fedora 40.
At last! After battling with Fedora audio - pipewire / pulseaudio etc. - for aeons, removing these files seems to have sorted the issue I had, of no sound in multiple applications.
