The Fedora Marketing team is bringing back the Fedora Podcast. We have two main people working on it currently: Eduard (x3mboy) and me (Grayson/computerkid). That has been working great to get things rolling but there is plenty to do and. We need to bring in more of the community After all, Fedora is Friends and we need help from our friends! We also want to have a diverse group of folks involved in the Fedora Podcast project.
There are a few ways you can help:
- Planning & coordination
- Recording, co-hosting
- Podcast interviewees
Planning & coordination
Making a good podcast requires work on the back end before you can record. Lots of work before we can put out a single episode! We are using the fedora-podcast repo to manage ideas, interviews, and content. This makes it so any Fedora contributor can help out. We need folks who can gather news, come up with ideas, write notes, and help close the many tickets we have open. If you think that’s you, please come over, and do as much or as little as you wish. We are even working on a badge for folks who help us with the coordination of the podcast. Feel free to jump into the fedora-podcast repo and start working on tickets or come chat with us in #fedora-podcast on IRC or Matrix.
Recording & co-hosting
Another way to lend a hand, or a voice, is the actual recording of the podcast. We are looking for people who can help out as co-hosts. We will have two or three main hosts who are on most episodes, but we also need people who can step in if one of us needs a break, or people who can go out and record interviews for us to edit into the show. If you think you’re up for the task and have a decent microphone, please head to this ticket and tell us who you are, and how you can help.
Last but not least, if you are doing something interesting in the project, we want to talk to you. If you make an interesting spin, maintain an awesome package, work on designs or any cool Fedora thing, let’s talk about it! You can come chat with us about it on #fedora-podcast on IRC or Matrix. You can also file an issue on the fedora-podcast repo, telling us who you are, and what you do. We have a fedorable Badge to say thanks to our podcast interviewees as well. We hope to have you on the Fedora Podcast soon!
