Hello.
I recently got some Sony Inzone Buds wireless earbuds, and I’m trying to connect them to my Fedora Silverblue 40 machine via Bluetooth. I’m having a lot of trouble doing this.
These wireless earbuds only support Bluetooth LE, and not regular Bluetooth. They also only support the LC3 codec, and not SBC.
Is this the problem? I’ve tried searching around, and am having a lot of difficulty finding clear and conclusive information, only finding random GitHub/GitLab issue threads. But from what I’m able to gather, it sounds like Bluetooth LE and LC3 should be supported by Pipewire. I’m not 100% sure though.
I’m using an MSI X570 Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard. It has an Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 device, which has Bluetooth 5.2 support, which I believe should include Bluetooth LE.
When I try to pair the earbuds, they do show up in the GNOME Bluetooth window. When I click on them, the earbuds report that they have paired, and the GNOME Bluetooth window shows them as registered devices. However, they always show as disconnected in GNOME, and there is no audio output device.
Can anyone help me out with this? Does Linux/Pipewire/Bluez/Fedora/whatever actually support BLE and LC3? How can I troubleshoot this?
Thanks in advance.
