I’m having a scan quality downgrade with a brother printer, when on windows 10 the quality is much better.
Why does this happens? I use usb with both.

You probably just using a generic printer driver in Linux. You might have to search the correct driver. Not everything in Linux is plug and play, especially because the original drivers not get ported to it.

Which brother printer do you have? Older mfc models for example need the brother driver for the scanner
I have the dcp-1610w.

You find the driver download page for your model. You choose rpm and after download follow the instructions to install printer and scanner
