Running into "failed to execute shutdown binary" errors!

Hello, all.

I’m running Fedora Workstation 43 on a Lenovo ThinkPad L14 (Gen 1).

I’ve been facing this issue where, every now and then, my laptop will emit two beeps, following which the entire system will turn read-only. Attempting a clean reboot at this point throws a “failed to execute shutdown binary” error and I’m forced to do a hard reboot. This has happened ~20 times now across a variety of kernels (incl. ones by CachyOS), and re-installing Fedora hasn’t helped either, so I’m inclined to think it’s an issue related to the hardware.

MemTest86+ reports no errors with RAM, and QDiskInfo tells me that the NVMe SSD is working fine.

Could someone please advise?

Cheers!

If it helps: my / and swap partitions are in the form of LVs on an encrypted LVM2 VG. I also mount an NTFS partition on boot using the ntfs-3g driver.
