Reinstall Fedora Silverblue on dual boot

Hello!

I (Linux noob) am in need of some advice:

I am both using Windows and Fedora Silverblue in dual boot on just one SSD.
When setting up Fedora I opted for not encrypting the installation. Now i do want to encrypt the installation.
Form what I have read, the easiest way to do that is by reinstalling Fedora silverblue and simply clicking the encryption button this time around and after the installation restore from a backup.

How would I go about that?

Do i need to resize the linux partition from the windows end of things and then start the installation process like when i first set it up?

Is the Pica-Backup which is a front end for Borg-Backup sufficient for my endeavor or are other ways of Backup better suited?

Are there certain things i need to be aware of with this project since i am dual booting from just one ssd?

I would be grateful for any advice.

I am also dual booting Windows with Silverblue (encrypted disk) on one of my machines.

Reinstalling Silverblue should be the easier part in your endeavor. I imagine you would need to choose custom partitioning, and reuse the existing partitions originally created by the previous installation, or alternatively delete the Silverblue partitions and recreate them during the new installation process. In the latter case, remember that you would have to allocate also a separate /boot/efi (and /boot) partition, i.e. don’t let Anaconda use the Windows EFI partition.

Restoring the system and data files from backup afterwards could be the trickier part, given the atomic nature of the file system. If you would be willing to reinstall everything, and just restore the home folder from backup, that should work easier (I did have good results in the past by restoring from Deja-Dup backups, but Pika Backup should work in a similar manner).
