Radeon and amdgpu issues with amd radeon r7 430

i have this problem like from 4 months ago. the problem is that both drivers cant manage GPU’s power correctly and the GPU will work in very low clock speeds like 300MHz (Core) and 150MHz (mem). i came back to linux with the hope that its fixed within 4 months. but no one cares. im currently testing it with furmark 2. my graphics card is working fine in windows 10 and 11 so dont think its related to my hardware. radeon driver meant to be stable for this graphics card but its the same as amdgpu that needs to force it in grub to work.

I saw your earlier post on the Ubuntu forums about this… it’s not a Fedora/Ubuntu issue. It’s a drm/amd issue.

This is an existing open issue with similar hardware on Freedesktop and has been for the last two years. Your best bet is to add yourself and your hardware to the Freedesktop issue so they know it’s a continuing problem for multiple users and not just a select few.

Edit: A further deep dive into the Freedesktop gitlab shows that Venemo is planning to do some work on older GPUs, including Oland, from Radeon to AMDGPU. You can follow that thread and see there’s a lot of work to be done.

I’ll do it, thank you very much.
