My question would be

  1. What is the default refresh rate?
  2. What is the specific reason for wanting to change it?

My laptop, with the GTX 1650 Ti, has a default refresh rate of 144 and I never would try to change that. It just works.

If you have a valid reason for making that change then you may be able to determine the supported refresh rates with the xrandr command.

There is also the kscreen-doctor tool that kde project provides and works directly with wayland that was recommended elsewhere for finding out supported modes.

yes this works thanks
