So, after updating Fedora 38 yesterday, everything graphical seems to be performing much worse than before. Animations on Gnome desktop are more sluggish, and especially Steam games are unplayable with very low fps (both native and proton). Prior to the update everything has been fine. Lighter use like browsing and watching videos seem to be unaffected.
I tested both Wayland and Xorg sessions, and both had the same issue.
Not sure what info I should include, but I’m using an AMD rx 6600.
All help is appreciated

Does booting to the older kernel (6.3.12) solve the issue?
My recent update installed the 6.4.4 kernel which may have problems with the driver for the amd gpu.

Hi, I booted from the grub menu to version 6.3.11, and now everything is working normally on my machine.
Seems the newer kernel version was the issue. Thanks for the assistance!

You might consider reporting that as a bug since it seems to affect the 6.4 kernel and the driver for the AMD gpu.

Thanks a lot, I’m new to Linux and I’ve been pulling my hair all night with this. Making kernel 6.3 the default one solved all my issues. Thanks!
