While I have internet connection speed of 300Mbps, and while testing I get an average of 200Mbps on all other devices and OS, but on my fedora 40, I’m getting average download speed of 10Mbps and upload speed of 2Mbps. Can someone help me?
That sounds like a driver/firmware issue. Is this a wired LAN connection or wireless LAN to your router?
What chipset are built into your network card(s)?
Anyway, Fedora 37 is End-of-Life since 2023-12-05. The first thing would be updating it to f39
and see if the problem persists. You can skip f38
since that will go EOL in a couple of weeks. upgrade procedure: Upgrading Fedora Linux Using DNF System Plugin :: Fedora Docs
I’m already on fedora 40 ans I use wireless conection. I don’t know about the chipset. Internet is slow on any wifi.
lspci
and
lspci | grep -i wireless
will give you the model and chipset of your wifi card
Your wifi chip is RTL8821CE. There have been quite a number of questions and issues been raised with the driver is shipped by the kernel. Someone with more experience can please advise which driver best to use. I know that there is GitHub - tomaspinho/rtl8821ce and sergiomb/akmod-rtl8821ce Copr but I can’t tell if they are useful
