PlayStation 5 DualSense Controller only acting as a Mouse via its touchpad

Already tried sudo modprobe hid-playstation, and the device still only has mouse functionality when touching the touchpad. No other buttons work, only the touchpad.

No, I don’t want to use SteamInput, because some games natively support DualSense as-is. Rebooting the system with it still plugged in, did nothing.

What am I looking for on here though? I looked around on that page, and it seems like this wouldn’t help. I only noticed these things:

xone driver for Xbox controllers.

Features ported versions of most SteamOS packages, including drivers, firmware updaters, and fan controllers from the evlaV repository.

And there’s nothing found for playstation.

So, what do I do with Input Remapper? I don’t need to remap anything. Especially when nothing can be remapped, when the buttons don’t do anything. Also, if a game has native support for a PlayStation DualSense controller, how is it going to actually respond to this if I’ve already remapped it? Will it conflict and crash? Will it overwrite the Input Remapper?

Okay, now what? There’s no option to remap “Button West” to output the signal for “SQUARE” as if I was sending a PlayStation Square Button:

And if you’re wondering, typing S into the output will just give the S Key, with no suggestion for “SQUARE.”

Maybe there is some compose combo for these keys?

What’s a “Compose Combo”? I see no mention of that in this software.

Also, there’s no output available for D-Pad on the right side of Input Mapper. If I try to type in Dpad, nothing appears, Up will show key_up, and Left will show nothing, and D-Pad shows nothing. I can’t use this software to make the buttons work if there is no output possible.

On Keyboards or input methods you can set a compose key. If you press that, the following keypresses will be used to build a different keypress.

Like ã or some other character even though it doesnt exist on the keyboard.

But just a guess, no idea what signal a playstation controller sends
