Thanks everyone for writing an introduction here! I sent a calendar invitation to everyone who has replied up to this point for Friday for an Applicant Orientation call. We will do quick introductions on the call and the Fedora mentors will provide key information about our projects and guidelines for contributing. We hope you can make it!

More details here in the Fedora Calendar: Meeting "Fedora @ Outreachy 2024: Applicant Orientation" - Fedocal

I know this is either evening or very very late for many of you. If you cannot make the call, no worries. We will record the call and the recording will be reshared in this Fedora Discussion topic and in the various Matrix chat rooms.

Hope to see you there? :slightly_smiling_face:

My name is Juliet Ogbu, I live in the Eastern part of Nigeria and my FAS username is @ms-julie.

I am particularly drawn and would love to contribute to the Fedora project on Creating an Outreach Strategy, documentation writing, running a Marketing Campaign and Measuring Results.

I have had the opportunity to learn about and experiment with different open source tools after transitioning to the field of Cybersecurity.

I am super excited to be contributing to a Fedora project after reading so much about it’s development and evolution alongside other popular distros from a linux course that I took.

I believe also that contributing to this project will avail me the opportunity to experiment using the knowledge I acquired from completing the Meta Social Media Marketing course into a real-life project.

And most importantly, I love making new connections and meeting people and I am certain that this would be a good breeding ground to help me connect with and learn from other beautiful minds in the open source world.

A big shout out to Outreachy for making this possible.

Looking forward to connecting and collaborating with you all.

Thank you.
