I’ve contributed to Fedora in various forms since its creation 20 years ago. These days I work on Infrastructure applications.
I started in opensource because I strongly believed it’s a good cause for users (I still do). I think it helps level the difference of power between software producers and software users.
I started contributing to Fedora by packaging software that was present in the Linux distribution I was coming from (Mandrake Linux, now Mageia) but absent from Fedora. But that was a long time ago, it may not be helpful today
