OpenVAS on fedora 40

I followed the official greenbone guide to install OpenVAS but when I run compose up the execution always hangs with these logs :

ospd-openvas-1 | OSPD [7] 2024-11-08 10:19:39,744: INFO: (ospd_openvas.daemon) Finished loading VTs. The VT cache has been updated from version 0 to 202411070607.

gvmd-1 | md manage: INFO:2024-11-08 10h19.42 utc:73: osp_scanner_feed_version: No feed version available yet. OSPd OpenVAS is still starting

gvmd-1 | md manage: INFO:2024-11-08 10h19.52 utc:74: osp_scanner_feed_version: No feed version available yet. OSPd OpenVAS is still starting

is there anyone who had the same problem or some advice ?

thanks

Two things.

  1. Please do not post screen shots of text, copy-n-paste the text as pre-formatted text using the </> button. Its hard to read the image.
  2. The guide has not been updated in at least 2 years for Fedora or ubuntu

I’m curious; are you installing this out of curiousity or is this a requirement from your work?

I am starting out of curiosity but I hope it becomes my job .
Yes, I was aware of the previous version but I honestly wouldn’t know how else to do it , any suggestion ?

Try Nessus from https://www.tenable.com/ it used to have a free version you could use (I did not check if that is still true). I used the free version a home and the paid version at work.

I have used it over the years and find its very good at checking a system for vulnerabilities. I have used it with Fedora and Centos systems.
