Greetings,
I get no sound of .mov (quicktime) video files. I have followed the Docs on RPMFusion as well as Fedora Docs to set up non free codecs. What am I missing? No error output from Totem.
Note that .mov is a container format and may have anything inside.
Maybe it contains something that is difficult to play?
I do not recall how to list the contents.
Have you tried playing other files?
I’m afraid I don’t have any other files to test it on, but it’s a video I made with Pitivi. I’ve checked what the .mov contains - For video: x264 and for sound it’s FDK AAC. The sound worked when uploaded to Youtube or played in Pitivi (flatpak so I guess it comes with all the codecs that is needed).

I’ll try to save the file with different audio format and see if it works.
No Cigar, I’ll try VLC flatpak and see if it works.
EDIT: No problem there with VLC flatpak.
If other audio formats don’t work in Totem either… is Totem muted?
GNOME Settings has per-application mixer or you can use pavucontrol.
Seems like cluttersink is not available and I can’t find info on it, maybe the instructions are outdated. Just drop the arguments since we’re interested in the audio, not video:
$ gst-launch-1.0 playbin uri=file://home/storm/Videos/IcyMist.mov
or try adding audio-sink=pulsesink, alsasink, or autoaudiosink.

Strange … after a turn off the computer to do some errands and turn on the computer again, the sound works in Totem! I have rebooted my computer after all the codecs installation, so this is a mystery

I’am speculating that you have access to the codecs you installed with VLC, also with Totem now.

There are also media players that include all relevant codecs by themselves. Consider using one of the following for offline video viewing: VLC, available from the vlc package in RPM Fusion Free MPV, available from the mpv package in RPM Fusion Free
