Network printing fails - Filter failure

0

I’ve previously been able to print on a network Konica Minolta Bizhub C450i printer from Ubuntu 20.04

After switching to Fedora 38 I’m getting ‘Filter failed’ when trying to print a test-page (as evident from localhost cups webpage).

I have installed the drivers as downloaded from the Konica Minoltas webpage (bizhub c450i) using the provided install.pl script – the drivers now reside in /usr/share/cups/model (KMbeuC650iux.ppd) and the filters reside in /usr/lib/cups/filter (KMbeuEmpPS.pl and KMbeuEnc.pm). I have ensured that the two filters have read and execute permissions (chmod 755).

I have restarted the cups server. I have rebooted. I have re-installed the printer.

Still no luck – don’t know where to look next. Any suggestions?

Check for SELinux related errors:

journalctl -b -g avc

I only get this (repeatedly):

Oct 26 07:13:35 fedora audit[1440]: AVC avc: denied { execmem } for pid=1440 comm=“ModemManager” scontext=system_u:system_r:modemma>
Oct 26 07:57:03 fedora packagekitd[6414]: Failed to get cache filename for libavcodec-free

I am now getting this:
