Need help to learn how to patch a kernel

Fedora Workstation 42

I have an issue with my Tuxedo laptop that, after much back and forth with Tuxedo support, can only be fixed with a kernel patch. I have no idea how to do this, but I am willing to learn and practice (VM, Fedora on external USB) before I attempt it on my main system.

Any kernel patching info online that I find is not digestible for my state of technical knowledge, so is there someone that can point me in the right direction, or walk me through the process? Or maybe I should be dissuaded from the attempt :upside_down_face:

The problem is with watching video in any Firefox-based browser. The laptop will do a hard reset at some point in time. After much troubleshooting, Tuxedo said this kernel patch should provide the solution.

Thoughts, or assistance?

Thank-you.

I would recommend you also make another post ‘firefox crashes system’ as maybe Tuxedo support dont have all the answers (maybe they do! but it seems like a very specific issue that would have another solution)
