My update doesn't go through because of a VLC conflict

Hello,

I got this message today when I tried to apply both the updates in the GUI and bysudo dnf update :

Erreur d’exécution pour la transaction : le fichier /usr/lib64/vlc/plugins/codec/libfaad_plugin.so de l’installation de vlc-plugins-base-1:3.0.21-24.fc42.x86_64 entre en conflit avec le fichier du paquet vlc-plugins-freeworld-3.0.21-4.fc42.x86_64

Basically, it’s a codec or dependency conflict issue but I don’t know which command to do so that possibly for this time (or until the issue is resolved) the update would skip this special VLC thing ? It’s not into VLC in itself because I uninstalled the DNF package version and put the Flatpak and it’s still there. It’s into the last system update.

I tried doing the CLI command but somehow, in the end I got the same message and nothing is proposed to me when I restart or shutdown, so something tells me that the update in its whole didn’t get through. Because in all other occurences until now, all was fine and the option was mentioned in a tick box whenever I restarted or shut downed.

Thank you for any insight on the matter. It’s the first time I actually have such issue so I don’t want to mess it up by doing the wrong command.

I use Fedora Workstation 42 on an HP laptop Pavilion 14 ce2014nf.

I will try this from another conversation, it’s exactly what I meant :

Okay, I could pass through thanks to sudo dnf update -x 'vlc*' and all seems okay so far, my sound works and my video streams as well. And thanks to the same thread I know that the corrective update specific to that issue will be available next week.
Thanks !
