Mutter Update

Hey all,

I’m not super familiar with the way all the fedora sites work, but where can I suggest this? Mouse gets stuck in one direction while playing some games since I upgraded to gnome-shell 46 and mutter 46. (#3409) · Issues · GNOME / mutter · GitLab

I have been waiting for this to be fixed since fedora updated to 40. It has been committed and merged to the mutter repo, and I’m super stoked since this has been plaguing myself and some others I know.

Please let me know where is the appropriate place to be posting about this or what the proper procedure is.

Since this is an upstream fix, once Gnome is updated with the merge, Fedora’s Gnome would follow very quickly I would think. Possibly even by next Tuesday I guess, but don’t take me as having any insight into this answer other than the general one I provide here. Which is based solely on the way upstream updates arrive in fedora release updates.

Thanks, where would I keep track in regards to seeing if Gnome is updated with the merge or not yet?

Trying to learn the gnome world.

Gnome software is a good place for that and Gnome is releasing updates nearly continuously for each release cycle. Check your updates regularly I guess, things need testing so that repo gets stuff first. You could find if there is an issue for mutter on fedora for this particular problem and then see where the testing package is for it, then test to help get it over the line. The fedora bugzilla docs are Using Bugzilla :: Fedora Docs. And, just checked there are 40 mutter (related) issues for Fedora … https://bugzilla.redhat.com/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=Fedora%20Mutter
