Monitor output

I have a DELL S2421HN Monitor that defaults to YPbPr instead of RGB input format. When I change it, it get a full violet tint like a loose or faulty cable. Is there a driver or a setup that I need to install/setup or is this a different issue ?

I have tested with different cables and ports, but still the same on the HDMI connection.

What could be the issue ?

It’s not an issue I’ve ever encountered. Apparently HDMI can carry YCbCr signals.[1] Maybe use modprobe -p <your-video-driver> to see if it has an option to configure what format is used for transmitting the video?

Perhaps you need to set up a specific ICC profile:

I appreciate the help all.

I have tried and tested a few other methods mentioned and same result at the end.

Think I’m just going to stick with the YPbPr, I don’t really see the difference between the 2 from what I remember from Windows - just switched to Linux 2 days ago, but that might just be me. Everything runs smooth (albeit from the micro-stutter at the start and not again in some games). Color accuracy isn’t the major be all and end all for me at this point.
I am enjoying it thus far and it does what I need.

Thanks again
