Hello. I am trying to recover my old Macbook Pro Core2duo (64bits) with 32 bits EFI. After downloading and creating a live USB with Fedora utility, boot started and got frozen with just an static white colon in the screen. Then, I decided to burn a USB image with YUMI UEFI and, alas!!, I could start Fedora workstation and worked beatifully and smooth. So, I decided to install it to a second HDD I installed after my DVD broke a long time ago while preserving and old OSX installation in the SDD.
I installed ReFind, reset the PRAM and restart. Then, the bootloader appeard with several Fedora Boots (Bootia32.EFI, Gcdia32.EFI, etc)… I tried all of them, the initial screen appeared in all of them but after that, screen frozen with the white colon… and nothing happened. I tried all the boots changing or erasing quiet, rhgb, … as suggested in boot troubleshooting but… nothing happened.
Then, I wonder if Bootia32.EFI installed with Fedora is probably not working for this computer, as I could start the Live USB just with Bootia32.EFI installed by YUMI UEFI. That’s my question. How can I change or re-do the EFI partition in HFS+ format?. The other distro I tried and worked quite well is Fossapup64. So, I booted from it, went to the EFI partition and tried to copy the old Bootia32.EFI from Yumi, but the partition is read only…
Any suggestions??? I hope that EFI is the problem…
Thanks in advance!!!
