I would say this StatCounter Global Stats is unreliable at best.

If I had to bet, most of the Unknown is linux, but surely it also counts other OSes, like BSDs, Solaris and others.

Isn’t market share of linux in India around 10%?

I guess it’s counting hits on user-facing websites, rather than the total installed base on all machines. Basically it’s going to heavily undercount things that aren’t consumer-facing devices.
