Is there a way to map Control-click on a trackpad to right click?

I’m just starting with Fedora 41 KDE spin on an old macbook air and I have many years of mac-based muscle memory holding down the control key while clicking to simulate a right-click. I have discovered that Fedora/KDE supports two ways of simulating a right click, by either clicking with two fingers or mapping the bottom of the trackpad to buttons. Neither works very well for me.

I have tried asking genAI about this and they talk about libinput, Synaptics, and xinput and I’ve made some stabs at that but those approaches all seem aimed at modifying trackpad behaviour and don’t seem to add any way to sample keyboard input.

Oh BTW. Actually I need to use the key labeled as CapsLock-- I have CTRL and Capslock swapped.

What am I missing?
Thanks
