Hello, I hope you are having a nice day.
so my problem is that suddenly fedora stopped detecting my speakers and even headphones.
i suspect that something happened to my drivers.
i have been facing other issues as well so i want to see if there are any driver updates or anything.
also, if you know a way that i can troubleshoot for any errors in the whole system please tell me that as well.
thank you.
Most “drivers” are actually part of the Linux kernel. There are exceptions such as certain wifi/network hardware, nvidia proprietary drivers and a few others.
You could try booting off an older kernel and see if that changes anything.
To troubleshoot errors, logs are very useful and can be accesed by commands like journalctl
, dmesg
or even some GUI apps depending on your desktop.
On Linux, drivers are not updated separately except for out of tree modules using dkms
or akmods
.
To make it easier to help you, please provide the output of inxi -Fz
.
Here is the output :

Sorry i dont know how to make the error colors red, these are the eerors and some of the comments associated with them
Instead of the preformatting and html color tags, simply paste the text into your message then highlight it with the mouse and select the </> Preformatted Text icon on the toolbar. It will make everything look exactly as you saw it on the screen. It also will allow us to scroll left to right and see the full lines, which are cut off by the way it was posted.
The way you edited that we cannot even copy/paste or quote without needing to correct for the html tags you embedded.
Your title does not indicate what drivers you may be asking about, and the text is even less enlightening.
Please ask a question that gives details and helps us to identify exactly what assistance you need.
In answer to your question in the title.
YES, the system does automatically install available drivers for all identified hardware where a driver is available in the system software.
