Is an Xbox controller plug n play on Fedora 39?

Greetings,

I’ve got two Xbox controllers, one is an Xbox One S white controller from like 2019 and the other is a newer Xbox Series X/S black controller. The black one I have a usb-c cable for, the white one I’m not sure if the cables are interchangeable. But I was wondering do I have to do anything to get either of these controllers working in Fedora 39? Thank you

if the controller is wired the kernel should already include modules to be able to recognize it without many problems, it might be a little more problematic to get it to work wirelessly.

In case of problems you could try xone, although it is currently only available on the copr repository sentry/xone

I am using the Microsoft xbox elite 2 controller with games running under steam from rpmfusion om f39.

In KDE’s system settings there is a game controller section.
The Microsoft X-Box One Elite 2 pad shows up there are allows me to check the buttons work.

I’m not a Gnome user, but assume, you can find the same support there.

Xbox controllers dating to the XBox 360 controller and many 3rd party off brand are pretty much plug and play. I have used many. . .
