IP blocked by rpmfusion.org

Hi everyone aparently my home IP is getting blocked by rpmfusion.org
Whenever I am trying to reach their site it just says:

Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache Server at rpmfusion.org Port 443

When I am trying to access it with my phone over cellular network everything works… How do I get them to unblock my IP?

At rpmfusion we are currently blocking some countries that are causing heavy loads due to LLM crawlers.
Maybe you are failing the anubis checks.

Perhaps you could use a VPN to workaround the block as it’s unlikely to be lifted.

I am from Germany and I do not have a VPN…
I’ve heard about banning Asian / South-East Asian countries, but Germany? That would be a new one…
And if you banned Germany, then why is it working with cellular?

I doubt Germany was blocked by us, maybe you are getting blocked by the anubis software?

Anubis is working on my phone using cellular, but using my wifi the check just doesn’t pop up. So I doubt the problem is that check either

There are multiple GeoIP databases and it depends on which one is used.
Note that it is separate for IPv4 and IPv6 and the data may change in a long term, so unfortunately the detection results are sometimes inaccurate or outdated.
Ideally, GeoIP blocking should be used as a last resort, otherwise it is best to avoid.
A free VPN or Tor with a specific exit node can help you bypass the blocking.

Can you try again.

I did, still no luck

Thanks for the report.
Seems like some IPs block wasn’t taken into account . Can you confirm again (or send me your IP for further investigation)

I have no idea how I would send you a DM…
But it is still not working

Click on a users Avatar and use the “Message” button.

You can use a free account. Example: Pricing | Proton VPN
It can be useful in different situations.

p.s.
sometimes just using an other DNS helps too. Cloudflare as an example, asks you if you are a human being instead of blocking you. Use 1.1.1.1 and/or 1.0.0.1

When clicking on the avatar I am only seeing this:

I am using a selfhosted dns with unbound (I think thats what its called) and pihole. And sure it might be easy doing it with a VPN but I’d prefer do not be blocked

Ah, ok i see. This might be because of your TL1 level. You still can not pm someone.
You can try the alias of this person and @fedoraproject.org to send an email. Project members have this option, if they redirect this alias to a valid email.

Or ask @alias to send a PM to you so you can respond. You have to substitute the word alias with the users one which offered you to send a pm.

Or just sent a message to root:
(@rpmfusion.org)

Could you send me a DM so I can sent you the IP?
