Graphics:
Device-1: NVIDIA GF108 [GeForce GT 440] vendor: Gigabyte driver: nouveau
is why we ask for info.
That card is supported by the nvidia 390 driver as you previously had installed so we needed to know exactly what hardware was installed to be able to formulate educated solutions.
With that old an nvidia GPU there is no way, whether using nouveau or nvidia, to have wayland work for you. Wayland was not able to work with any nvidia drivers earlier than 495 which was released when Fedora 35 was first released and was still very limited with nouveau at that time. Even the 470 driver which was of the fedora 33-34 era did not work with wayland and does not support your card.
As I see it you have two choices.
- accept that you are limited to using xorg with your GT 440 GPU.
or - install a newer GPU that is supported by the current nvidia driver (510+) and be able to use wayland.
I currently have 2 systems with an nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 and one with a Geforce GTX 1660. All work well with wayland. If I were to purchase a newer card it likely would be a 2080 or similar.
